"Funny name serious sandwich". “Funny name serious sandwich” is the slogan used at Schlotzsky’s Deli. This sandwich place is the perfect lunch spot. With many tables organized throughout the room you wont have to worry about bumping into someone else. They also have Internet access with three desktop computers, or you can choose to bring your own laptop. When it was founded in 1971 they only had one sandwich and that was called “The Original.” Now Schlotzsky’s has many different kinds of sandwiches, pizzas, salads and soups. Some locations even offer carnival ice cream like the location I attended on brown and Higley. The original sandwich is by far my favorite sandwich I’ve had anywhere else. This sandwich includes many ingredients. Moist sourdough bread with warm smoked ham, cheddar, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese melted to the bun. A slice of tomato, shredded lettuce, chopped black olives and red onions. And to top it all off mustard and their signature dressing. This sandwich will melt in your mouth with every bite you take. You have a choice to just get the sandwich; which you can get in three different sizes small, medium, or large. You can make it a meal by adding your choice of chips, which come in a variety of different flavors. some including barbeque, salt and vinegar, and original potato chips. You also have your choice of many fountain drinks including sodas, lemonade, and teas. All that for $6.25 it’s a deal that you can’t pass up. They have great service and will get you in and out of there just in time to clock back in for work.

Freshly baked deli favorites draw casual diners to this gourmet sandwich shop.. In Short
Since 1971, familiar green, white and red marquees have greeted patrons looking for international-style deli sandwiches. Starting with "The Original" sandwich--piled with three meats, three cheeses, mustard, marinated black olives, onion, lettuce and tomato on a fresh-baked sourdough bun--the menu has expanded to include zippy jalapeno-cheese bread; soups like Boston clam chowder and broccoli cheese; albacore tuna and chicken-pesto pasta salads; healthy wraps; and creative eight-inch pizzas like Thai chicken and Tuscan herb.
