We've been going to Dr. Kern for 4 years. The office staff is very nice. However, I have never been in to see the doctor less than 20 minutes after our appointment time. I don't understand why the office staff is unable to schedule patients so there is no wait. They obviously need to update their scheduling times and software. Dr. Kern has treated my dog well. However, tthe vet is not very good at explaning what is going on to me. I don't think she listens to people concerns well. She has told me to do things (soft food diet for 2 weeks) and then was surprised that my dog gained weight and was still on a soft diet 10 days after that. My dog used to be very well behaved (though scared) at the vet's, but after her spaying she is now marked as a biter. Routine office tests and medicines are more expensive than I have paid elsewhere. The whole office has a feedling of delapidation and "old-style" techniques to it. We used to see a vet further away - brand new office, always let in on time, perscriptions automatically put in childproof containers since we have a kid at home, dog's picture on perscription label. Sigh. That vet moved to another state and I miss her! Bottom line, we are looking for a new vet, and I would recommend a friend to go elsewhere.

Pros: Talented vet, will go the extra mile in emergency situations.

Cons: Not good with people.

Horrible place, dunno how many times my dog had to go in for puppy shots but not nearly as many with our new puppy and new vet. + there is a long wait just to be seen, and when your seen shes in and out. we had to take our dog to a special oral surgeon so he could tell us that the break in the middle of his jaw was normal, when the vet told us it was broken and wasnt healing and needed to be wired together,, $500!!! to tell us that that's normal for dogs,, why didnt she just tell us that? maybe it was the referral money? and not to mention the antibiotics that just made our dog vmoit. We finally (not soon enough) went to a different vet and he gave us the antibiotic that other people on the web said their vets gave them for the particular illness, How convenient is that? to go to your vet and get the right meds! Not here, if i knew somebody personally that was taking their pet here i would stop them and refer them to our new vet. there are places 10x better than this place. If you read this dont chance it, just keep looking and pick a vet with a good review, cuz their honest on here, thats how we found our new vet. Im so thankful everytime i go to the new vet now, and i honestly feel sorry for the people that still go here.

Pros: Absolutely nothing

Cons: still upsets me thinking about everything.
