How Could You Say This Is Delicious Chinese Food At All?. First of all, I have to admit that the price are very reasonable but I will not recommend this restaurant to my friends, co-workers or whoever wanna taste some real traditional "Chinese" food.

Curiosity can really kill a cat. It happened on a fine evening, we decided to eat at Kwan's since we were always wondering what kind of restaurant it was. We ordered 4 dishes. It took 20 minutes to cook even though we were the only customers at that time. As soon as the dishes came, we stared at the dishes and opened our eyes widely. Those dishes that in front of us were apparently not what we expected. "What is this... crap?" My brother asked. A moment of silent. "Hmm, it may taste better than it looks... hopefully?" I answered as I used my chopsticks to pick up "something". I looked at it and I could not tell what it was. I could tell only after I tasted it, it was water-chest-nut. Then I picked up two shrimps from two different dishes, but both shrimps and dishes were tasted the same. Three out of four dishes were using the same sauces and same ingredients. Each dish had a lot of sauces (so much that the dishes could be soups.) We felt like we were eating "sauces" instead of "ingredients". All ingredients lost their original flavors into the sauces. The preparation of the food were not good enough, the celery skin should be peeled off before cooked. Lastly but not least, I saw some noodles on the table. I thought they were "deep-fried" noodles, but the waitress said they were "fried" noodles that supposedly came with one of the dishes. Fried noodles? "Fried" noodles should be fried by pan, not by a deep-fryer. I smirked as I heard this "news." In additional, my brother showed me the menu that claimed "Orange Chicken" was one of the favorite dishes that China Emperor liked. What a ridiculous restaurant. Orange Chicken was originally created by a chinese who came to United States around 1970s. Honestly, most Americans basically knew Orange Chicken. but how much they knew about authentic Chinese food? Both mainland China and Taiwan have totally different recipes. Once these recipes came to the U.S., only a few Americans will dare to try them out because they don't like their unfamiliar tastes. If you really want to taste some traditional Chinese food, find a Chinese friend and cooks for you, so you don't have to go to China or Taiwan in order to taste some locate food. Good luck.

P.S. My entire family and I will never go there and eat once again. If 100 is the maximum point, I would rate this restaurant at 1 point. 1/100

Good Food at Great Prices. I had family in town a while back and we went to Kwan's and it was great. We had a $115 bill for 18 people. Due to the location I did not go back until recently when I moved my office. Now I go there about twice a month with clients and/or co-workers. Everyone has liked the food and have suggested it when we go to lunch a month or two later.

It has become my favorite Chinese restaurant with House of Eggroll.

Nice People, But terrible food!. I wanted to try a new chinese place because i was sick of the usual. So I called in an order of 2 chicken chow mein, and 2 sweet and sour chicken for me and my brothers family. Being that the bill was 31 Bucks I had high hopes. The entire meal was terrible. It could be just that they have a different style of chinese food, but it didn't work for me at all. we ended up throwing away over half of it. On the flip side, the staff there was very nice, but this was the first "Authentic" chinese place that I thought fared well below Panda Express.

Kwan's Sampan. This food is as close to being like Chinese food is back in the North East. Anyone from Boston/New York will LOVE this restaurant. Whenever I want Chinese, this is the ONLY place I'll go. You can KEEP PF Chang's, I LOVE Kwan's!
