WORST Customer Service. Well we never even got to try the food here thanks to the WORST customer service we've ever experienced at ANY restaurant before! This is the closest restaurant to a museum in the area so we made the trek across the parking lot on a hot day to have some lunch. BIG mistake!!! Grant it we are two mothers with a baby and a four year old each & unfortunately didn't have our husbands with us this trip but I have never been treated so poorly or received such a lack of service. This is a very small restaurant and just making into the door was a challenge with the tight table space. Two restaurant workers watched as we struggled maneuvering strollers to not once hold the door, move a chair, or assist us in getting a table, much less welcome us to this restaurant they claim to call a business. We had to hunt a highchair down (only 2 in restaurant so we were out of luck) and then asked for some waters (kids and moms were tired, hot, and near dehydrated). They told us very rudely "you order at the counter and then we'll bring it to you". We had to feed our babies quickly and couldn't logistically wait in line to order food OR drinks at that point, so 20 minutes later just tried to get a few waters again until we could order our food. We were once again ignored while four maybe five employees hung around the counters folding silverware & talking. After being blatantly ignored in a hot, dingy, and extremely rude restaurant we decided that no amount of hunger OR thirst for that matter was worth it. I asked for an owner and one of the employees claimed to be a manager. When I proceeded to explain to him about our very poor experience, he immediately argued "You have to order at the counter" and his fellow co-workers rallied around him and chanted the same including kitchen workers that obviously didn't have enough to do and decided to sit in. Not sure if there was a language barrier or what, but you couldn't run a lemonade stand with such poor service. There's too many hard working restaurants in the valley that will go the extra mile to make their customers happy or at least provide them with a glass of water on a hot day that this one is certainly not worth supporting. Lucky for us, we are surrounded by great Mexican restaurants in the Valley that are much more deserving of our business.
Mango's Mexican Cafe.
Mango’s is one of the best Mexican Restaurants in Mesa. I’ve been to many of the Mexican restaurants in the Mesa area and nothing compares to Mango’s. Inside it’s very colorful and fun. The wait staff is quick and polite. While they may not have a ton of menu options, what they do have is done exceptionally well. They serve all of the recognizable Mexican dishes: nachos, enchiladas and many different types of burritos. They also serve a variety of homemade fruit drinks and horchata. While this might sound boring and predictable, the food is absolutely mind-blowing. The prices are also surprisingly reasonable.
I had the cheese enchiladas and lemonade. My food came quickly, about ten minutes after I had ordered. The enchiladas were smothered in red sauce and cheese, they looked amazing. The inside was full of melting queso fresco. The homemade lemonade was ice cold and not too sweet.
My overall experience at Mango’s was unbeatable. The restaurant is well-located, close to a lot of different downtown shops and entertainment. This is the place to go if you love Mexican food and are looking for a fun place to have lunch or dinner. I’ll definitely be going back soon.
