Buttercake for dessert!!. I dined with the family last Friday evening at Caffe Boa in Ahwatukee, it was a great time. They had a live Guitarist playing, a full restaurant(its July in phoenix!) and the food, well it was very very good! Try the Filet Mignon special, the fresh Halibut was like butter, very well prepared, but the finale was the Dessert, the Boa Buttercake, do yourself a favor and ORDER THIS! It was soooo good! We will be back again soon!…
First Trip to Caffe Boa--and Last.
My wife and I went to dinner here for Valentine's Day. The food was very good (though rather overpriced). The real problem was the service: we waited 10 min before I had to ask the hostess to send
our waiter over; also had to ask hostess for bread. In the end, we waited 40 minutes for our entrees, and my meal was cold when it arrived. Then the waiter took a very long time to check back on us--just so I could tell him my food needed to be reheated. When it came back, it was good, but by that time, I'd been at the restaurant for an hour and was really hungry. The waiter didn't apologize for long delay or comp any part of the meal or offer discount if we came back. So we won't. I almost always tip 20% and can't remember the last time I tipped less than 15%--until tonight. Lastly, where were the managers?
I believe this Caffe Boa is independent of the one on Mill Ave in Tempe. In my trip to each restaurant, what they both share in common is lousy service.…
Great place to eat. Had dinner here last week, really enjoyed our meal, had the fresh Halibut entree, was cooked perfect, very tender, calamari appetizer was done just right, finished with a buttercake(homemade) that was the best dessert I ever had, wow. serving staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable on the menu and wine list. highly recommended.…
Great food and ambiance. Visited twice. Had the superb chicken marsala. Their specialty dessert, tiramisu, iis good, but not the best I've had. Good service, discreet. Haven't been to the one on Mill Ave, yet.
Poor Service. My friend and I met here to have a nice Saturday dinner. She said the wine list is good, I dont drink wine so I dont know. The place looks really nice, the patio was great. We were a little disappointed by the number of options on the menu, and they were already out of some of the specials (early on a saturday like 7ish). The waiter was not very nice. The menu says every order is made to order, so my friend was a little particular about something in her pasta and he wasnt very patient. Then when I told him that I didnt like the tea (was fruity) he rolled his eyes at me, and never removed it from the bill. The food was good, not overly great. My water sat empty most of the meal, and I could never flag someone down to fill the glass. Once the waiter came to take our plates, get boxes, and pay bills he was very attentive, almost pushing us out the door. I was very disappointed. I would change my opinion if the service had been better, so maybe it was a fluke but I wont return.…
