Poor selection of rolls...poor quality

The selection of rolls was terrible...maybe 5 specialty rolls? Rolls are very americanized and not traditional sushi...every single roll has mayo in it. Not sure why people have rated it so highly. My guess is that people from Phoenix have no clue what sushi is and/or should taste like? I'd search elsewhere....I sincerely hope there is a real sushi place in PHX as this is a pathetic excuse for one.

Yummy yummy!

While visiting another establishment in the same strip mall, I saw people lined up outside of this particular restaurant for it to open... What on earth could be so special about this strip-mall sushi joint, I asked myself? I went back for lunch a few days later and had easily the best sushi in Phoenix. That was a couple years ago now and I keep going back for my sushi fix. Fresh, melt-in-the-mouth fish, fast and friendly service even when they are slammed. The lunch menu is the best deal in town. If you love sushi, you must pay Sakana a visit.
- Pros: Melt-in-your-mouth fresh fish, good value, great service
- Cons: Restaurant in the strip mall is a little shabby, but don't let that scare you off

Best sushi value in town-and GREAT sushi!

Best sushi in town? I think I would have to say yes---and FAR more reasonable than RA. No question this is our favorite place in town and my wife and I are sushi FANATICS! We have had the best sushi in San Diego, Seattle, Vancouver BC, Tampa, and in resorts in the Caribbean and in Mexico. This place ranks with the best of them!
- Pros: prices, food, value
- Cons: crowded (see above dummy), not the fanciest sushi place to visit
