Performing chefs cook up rustic, home-style Italian entrees at this buzzing family restaurant..
In Short
A boisterous, all-ages crowd of pasta lovers pack this energetic Italian spot, where chefs clad in white hats and red scarves keep diners wide-eyed by showing their moves in the busy open kitchen. The menu boasts family-sized portions of hearty traditional fare, from antipasti, chicken and pasta dishes to seafood, steak and wood-fired pizzas. Signature plates include grilled pork chops, lobster ravioli, and penne rustica with shrimp, grilled chicken and smoked prosciutto in cream sauce.

Not What It Used To Be.
Mac Grill used to be an inexpesive nice restaurant. But in the past 2 years (since 2002), they have uped their prices, changed the ambiance to look very "chainy", and the food has definitely suffered all along the way.
This is a fine restaurant, but as a long time diner there, it used to be one of my favorites that I would do anytime, now it's a very rare occasion that I go.

Nice atmosphere.
We were in this restaurant last year. We have been to other Macoroni Grill's here in the Dayton area but, this one on Scottsdale Rd tops them all. The waiters were great! Food was good,I would say maybe better than other Grill's restaurants. We had a lunch at this place that kept us full until the next day! Whoever goes there will definitly know the difference between other Grill restaurants and Romonos Macaroni Grill on Scottsdale Rd!!

Inconsistent.
The food has been hit and miss the last 3 times we went. Once it was great, but service was REALLY bad. The next time we went, service was great, but everything was salty. We decided to go back a third time. But in our case, third time wasn't a charm. The food was mediocre and service wasn't anything special.

Simply the best.
This one is easily better than either of the ones ranked above it. Bucha is so overrated, it's not even funny. I don't think that anyone who rates it so high has actually been there. I think they just vote the most expensive because it must be the best. Olive Garden is also much better, but not nearly as good as the Grill

second most authentic.
After being stationed in Italy for 3 1/2 yrs, finding authentic Italian food back in the states that compares to Italia was difficult, but after La Vina, the grill is awesome. Believe it or not, in Italia they really don't put 3 tons of cheese on everything, and unlike Olive Garden, Macaroni grill puts on just enough cheese.

Better than Olive Garden at least.
Despite being a chain, the food quality I would place above Olive Garden. You can't compare this place to authentic Italian restaurants because the two are at completely different levels. Comparing it to other chains, however, the quality of their food more closely matches the prices. The design of the restaurant is nice, with paper covered table tops where the waiters write their names and you can show off your artistic abilities.

Great Italian Food!.
The bread you receive when you get to your table is Excellent! The service was very good and the entrees were very tasty. I will definately go back even though it is a 45 minute drive to get there.
