TBONE... True Cowboy STEAKHOUSE!
by Raeanna at Citysearch
LOVE this place! If you want STEAK, this is the place! The steaks are grilled to your liking... true "Cowboy Steakhouse". This is a place where you can come relaxed. Picnic tables, sawdust and a great view of the valley complete the perfect date night! Worth the drive and the money! Simple menu that is posted on the board, simple salad, and beans... nothing complicated about this place. If you are looking for a RELAXED, cozy, mom-pop like restaurant, this is the place. Portions are huge! Did I mention the awesome view?

We just got back from the T-Bone Steak House and based on all the 5-star reviews, its fair to say we were expecting a lot better. A steak, ordered medium, was delivered well done. Mashed potatoes were delivered cold. The bread included free with dinner is just wheat Texas Toast, so I ordered garlic bread instead and got wheat Texas Toast with garlic spread on it (for an additional $1.79!)
No french fries. No fryer at all. I asked for no beans, but my girlfriend wanted her beans, so they put her beans on my plate and got my food soaked in the bean juice
They expect you to use the simple fork and steak knife (all the silverware you get) to eat all of your food. When the beans are ordered, a spoon, only then, is included.
The restaurants menu is extremely limited and several items are unnecessarily over-priced. This is the full menu:
24 oz Porterhouse $26.99
One Pound T-Bone $18.99
8 oz USDA Choice Filet $19.99
14 oz New York Strip $18.99
8 oz Grilled Salmon $13.99
12 oz Top Sirloin $15.99
Smoked Half Chicken $13.99
8 oz Sirloin steak and Chicken Combo $14.99
Two 6 oz Pork Chops $12.99
6 oz Pan Fried Trout $13.99
1/2 Pound CheeseBurger $9.99
All dinners include a salad bar*, cowboy beans and bread with butter.
The salad bar is just lettuce. No croutons, no bacon bits, no cucumbers, no nothing. JUST LETTUCE. There was also a green bean salad. This is salad?
For desert they offer:
T-Bone Hot Brownie $5.00
CheeseCake $3.99
Apple Pie $3.50
Ala Mode $4.50
Ice Cream (dish of cinnamon or vanilla) $2.99
Ala Carte, you can order:
Baked Potato $1.99
Red Skinned Mashed Potatoes (plain - no gravy offered) $1.99
Garlic Toast (mentioned above) $1.79
Cobb of Corn $1.99
For kids they have:
1/4 pound burger $3.50 (add $1 for cheese!)
1/4 chicken $4.50
6 oz sirloin steak $6.50
So, as you can see, $3 for a scoop of vanilla ice cream, $1 for a slice of cheese, and $1.79 for two slices of Texas Toast with garlic spread on them. Ridiculous!
- Pros: Great view, great atmosphere, good chicken
- Cons: Terrible service, expensive, far away, hard to find, terrible steaks

Out of the way, up the mountain..worth the drive. Casual cowboy atmosphere with all the meats grilled out front over a massive pit. Busy as all get out when we went, so we waited at the bar and ended up eating our meal there due to the great bartender. The beans need to be spiced and flavored more, but the meat was top quality and the price was $10 cheaper than a comparable NY steak elsewhere.
- Pros: good meat, good staff
