best mexican food in phoenix...yeah right!. ive heard so much about this place and how the food is to "die for "and "just the best mexican food in phoenix" and i belived it until i tried it...ok so the place isnt much to look at i can get past that but when i ordered a red chili burro and bit into it the chili drained out of the tortilla like water from a faucet not only was it the most watery red chili ive ever had it was the most tasteless ive ever had. i didnt even eat the whole thing i just tossed it. my friend that i went with had the oaxaca special and let me try it..the chorizo was also tasteless ...this place just sucked all around. i grew up on mexican food as did most of my friends and i can tell you without hesitation that Carolina's is not the "best mexican food in phoenix "nor is the food from here to "die for" dont waste your money here look for something better because i assure you there IS better than this place. how it has the kind of hype that it does i have no clue but remember its just hype.

Great food. For truly authentic Mexican food visit Carolina's on in Phoenix on 7th street and Mohave. Carolina’s has exceptionally delicious food at relatively inexpensive prices. Even though the location may not be the best it is still a really good place to eat. I would recommend getting the red chili burrito.

Bad,Bad,Bad. I heard good things about this place,But, boy was That a hoax

very substandard.My wife and I both got food sick from Carolinas.

So,I am writing this to warn others not to wast your time,money or life.

Best Mexican Food In Arizona. I love carolinas ever since a co-worker introduced me to the place i have been eating there ever since. I perfer their breakfast buritos but the other food is very good also. I know the wait is long if you walk-in, but i dont even bother with that anymore phone in order is the best way to go. Prices are cheap too, the location is bad but i dont really care about that. There is one thing i really dont care for and that is their soda, i don't know if it's just me but everytime i ordered one it just don't EVER taste right. I would recommend their food not fountain drinks. Also when you do a phone order be prepared to wait on hold for up to 5 min.

Truly authentic Sonoran style Mexican food. If you want ambience go someplace else. If you want traditional Sonoran style Mexican food and the best tortillas anywhere, Carolina's is your place. This place is a dive, and swamped at lunchtime, but the food is outstanding. Try the chorizo and potato burrito or the machaca soft taco. On any given day, you will see neighborhood locals, firefighters, people in business suits, all waiting in line to order their food.

There is no table service, and which can be long during the busy times, but the food is worth it. If you are looking for anything other than food this is not the place. By the way, this is located directly under the south runway of Sky Harbor Airport, and any place that can survive that is got to be good.

slow service great tortillas. I followed the reviews and was sadly disapointed. I waited about 40 minutes for one burrito. Ordered a chile verde and potato burrito. The outcome was about 5 cubes of beef filled with mashed potatoes and a little bit of green salsa. I would not recomend it for someone that has limited time to go back to work.

People really Love this place?. Because I had heard so much about this place I was so excited when one day i was in the area and very hungry I looked up and saw it, I made a quick u-turn and went in. The decor had the look that i love when looking for good food. The prices were great. when I sat down and began eating my meal I was so very unimpressed. It is just food nothing special, just ok. It lacked the special flavors that that make food go from just food to delicious. Yes, I would go again to this place but, I would never make a special effort to dine here. It really is perfect for people that work in the area it is fast and inexpensive and tastes not bad.
