Never Again. Went to Popo's today on 8/4/11. I wanted to go somewhere close and get some somewhat "soft food". My Grandmother just had her teeth fixed and could not chew that well. I could have easily gone across the street to Macayos and had reliable service and food (well sorta). Instead, I decided to go to Popo's on 59th and Bell. Have had them a few times, NO PROBLEMS. Guess I never had take out from them before. I ordered a fish burro and my Mother had a taco and tostada a la cart. Then I asked for a to go order of a green chili burro. I did not know that on togo orders you must order chips and salsa separate (FRICKIN CHEAP). Anyway, I had a good meal. The food was decent and the service up until this point was adequate. Or server who's name is Junior had a follow that day. I understand the stress, but make a good impression for the one that you are training so they will know the right way to do things. Anyway, asked for boxes and he brought us some. Then our TO GO order came out. No chips and salsa provided. I guess that's a way to generate more revenue for the company. Still, no problem since I had some on my table. I took the chips and salsa and walked to the kitchen. The Manager, Vicky Baird, was standing right at the doorway. I asked her to please box up the chips and salsa. She then stated it was against health code and rudely walked away. I put the chips and salsa down and left. I was now very mad. I went to the table and told my companion "NO TIP". I told him we would NEVER be back. Junior took it upon himself to tell me that he, "encourages us to not come back." Wonder how his boss would like that???? NEVER again. I will continue to spread this message for at least the next two years. 3500+ local facebook friends I am sure will agree.

Popo's is Num-Nums. My boyfriend and I decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews since we recently moved to the SW valley. Located in a tiny strip mall in the heart of Maryvale, Popo's could easily go unnoticed. (We missed it and thought it was in the Fry's shopping center- duh). Thanks to the food, service, and margs, we know exactly where it is now! Great food and service; portions are huge. Margaritas actually have tequila in them-- (nice!) Can't wait to return.

Best Mexican Food Anywhere!!!. The food here is outstanding. They have the best mexican food anywhere and I've eaten at a lot of places!! High recommended. Even though we live in the East Valley, I would travel to eat here anytime.

Want the best? It's Popo's.. We eat at Popo's several times a month. The food is incredible! Service is great and prices are very reasonable. I'm so spoiled -- can't stand store-bought chips anymore, and have never found any Mexican food anywhere better.

Popo's will always be my favorite!. Personally, I've been eating at Popo's since birth! My parents ate there in high school, before the "new half" of the restaurant was added! My friends & family have always considered Popo's our family restaurant. We appreciate the years and years of wonderful service and exceptional food. Hats off to you Popo's, we hope to have you around for many more generations!

Popos has offered amazing food 15 years!. This restaurant has been a favorite of mine since high school. Everytime I go there for machaca tacos, I leave full with leftovers! The price is right and food is amazing. You can't go wrong here.

best mexican food on the west side of phoenix. popos has been at its location for many years, we have eaten there since i can remember and the food is great, i will always recomend popos to anyone that wants GOOD!! mexican food

The Real Deal. I've been eating at PoPo's for to many years to remember. I was first introduced to fajitas there.

Theres not a bunch of Fu-Fu just the best Mexican food in the state. Don't forget to try their machaca burro, second to none .

EAT HERE. I have been eating at Popo's for a little over 20 years now, and the service as well as the food is EXCELLENT! It is a nice, cozy, family friendly restaurant. The Chimichanga's are excellent!
