Frank's --I try not to go but when I do, it's never better. Rude stuck up people. They act like they are doing you a favor. Ask them any question and they look at you like your crazy. Maybe they don't care but if they don't change and cater to the younger generation more, they won't be in business much longer.
The knowledge, products and customer service sucks. I should have listened to the other post. I needed several Deans mico connectors, showed the sales guy (who was slouched in a chair near the airplanes) what I needed. He got up grabbed me a few packages and off I went. Only to realize after getting home he gave me the wrong parts. My bad for not checking in the store. No problem - drove back, they didn't have what I needed and the grup at the cash register says no refunds store credit only. Good grief are you guys that hard up for money! Off I went to Duncans on 35th ave. where not only did I get the right item but great customer service. Seriously - compare both hobby shops and you will agree. I live in Scottsdale which is the complete opposite side of town but will go to Duncans from now on. Franks - in this day and age where it's easier and cheaper for most items on line - a store can offer customer service - That's what Duncas does - that's what you don't! Was $5 in Dean's plugs worth the bad publicity?
Worst Customer Service and Knowledge.
If you fly Helicoptors or are thinking of getting into them DO NOT GO TO THESE GUYS! They will be helpful all right, in helping you put your bird into the ground. For one thing they are the most downer group of people (in such a fun hobby) I have ever been around. Do not let them trick you into thinking they know more about what they are talking about (bad advice or no advice at all.)
Do yourself a favor and go Duncan's!
BEST Hobby shop in the Valley!. This is what a hobby shop should be. You walk in and there is RC stuff EVERYWHERE. Planes hanging from the ceiling, helicopters, boats, cars, you name it, its there. The Selection is HUGE and the store borders on cluttered they carry so much stuff. If you’re into RC, walking into Franks is like a kid walking into a candy store. There is always plenty of knowledgeable staff there to answer your questions, and this isn’t some chain, the owners are always around and willing to help you out with whatever you need. The prices are better than you will find online, which is amazing. I live in Gold Canyon and drive 55 miles and pass many other hobby shops along the way to shop here and its well worth it. You really can’t go wrong with this hobby shop.
Great place. First time shopper at Frank's They were very helpful, new there products, didn't have me buy stuff I didn't need. They were a little slow on getting to me. Over all a very pleasant shopping experience.
Awesome Shop. I don't know what the true issues are with you guys, I have been shopping there on and off for over 10 yrs. And no I"m not one of "the good old boys" just a customer. Dealing with guys like you no wonder they had bad attitudes!
horrible place, bad layout, ridcoulsly bad service.
I have shoped at Franks many times, this time was the last. I was buying a new radio, and I was trying to use my debit card. Well they guy tried to run my card and he said it will not work? So I said that is weird the card is brand new and I have never had a problem? he then told me that his machine is brand new so it must be the card. So he then tried using my card with plastic bag around it? Again I thought it was a new machine but if he doing this than he has had that problem before. (So he lied to me about the machine). So then I ask if he can just type in the numbers on the card and run it that way. he told me no because it is too easy to comit fraud that way, so I said " how does that make sense? I have a wallet full of ID's that say who I am". (not only that but the multi million dollar company I work for uses Credit cards without actually seeing them all day.) after this I went to the Cricle K and guess what card worked like a charm (like it always has). So because of there bad service and horible personalitys I will never be shoping there again, I would even say if I saw the man with the big nose out at a flying field I would tell him how a really feel it was that bad!
I would not recommend this place to anyone. the only reason to go there is if they have a part that nobody else has, I hope this place goes out of buisness it was that bad of an experience.

It seems allot of the posts reflect the overall rude, laze attitude of the employees. There definitely is no "Can I help you?" Or, "Thank you for shopping" at this place. You usually have to interrupt a conversation between the "Good 'ol Boys" to ask a question and conduct business.
Overall their prices are competitive with internet prices when shipping is considered. But if you are new to the hobby be prepared to not be a viable customer.
The place is a joke.. If you enjoy non-existent customer service, angry old men, and middle aged social retards you're going to love this place! Got a question for them? Be ready to stand there awkwardly for 5 minutes while Patrick chats it up with his cronies. And don't even bother waiting for them to ask if you need help, it wont happen. If by chance you actually get helped and find what you were looking for, congrats you are one a select few, but you still have to get through Arthur, the most unfriendly old man in Phoenix. Be sure you've got yourself together, and preferably pay in cash, cause he has no problem with losing a sale when his grumpy old man instinct kicks in and he senses that you're a fraud. Closing comments.. Screw this place, SRS or Amainhobbies all the way. "Support your local hobby shops...! blah blah blah" BS. With the attitudes of these guys, I say do the phoenix RC scene newcomers a favor and the place TANK.
Horrible, not sure how they are still in biz?. Wow, in this day and age of internet, you'd think these guys could offer a smile or hello to a new customer coming through the front door! Well they don't and this is expressed in several other reviews. Most of these hobby guys only want to speak to their other known hobby friends. Forget the fact that I was ready to plunk down $700+ for a new Heli + future maintenance parts. I'll get it from the internet thank you! I'll never step foot into that establishment again. Oh and Hobby Bench is not much better.
