"Sandy Beans" is my childhood love--BEST PIZZA in PHOENIX. my family and i have been frequenting Sammy B's Pizza since 1979, when i was two years old. too young to pronounce the name, my brother and i would demand "Sandy Beans" on pizza night! now i am almost 30, have lived in NY and LA, traveled around europe and italy, and still come back to phx craving Sammy B's pizza! in my opinion its the best that Phoenix has to offer. they're not in business after 20 years for nothing!

next time you're headed out to one of the big guys (CPK or the like)----consider giving a local PHX homegrown pizzeria a try!

I love the cheese pizza. I have been eating Sammy B's for only a couple of years now and I think I am addicted. I guess there is worse things to be addicted to. The ranch and cheese slices combined is a little slice of heaven. I can't get enough. I have turned on most of Chapparal high school to this awesome pizza.

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Sit-down pizzeria serves it up by-the-slice or as a full pie, along with calzones, subs, pasta and beer on tap.

Worst pizza I've ever had. From the white trash decor to the soggy, tasteless pizza, this was positively the worst pizza I've ever had. It is frustrating enough to have lived here for 2 years never to find an adequate pizza joint, but this one happens to be right down the street from my house... too bad.

PS - when a restaurant is rated both "romantic" and "kid friendly" you must question who is doing the rating.

Try the ASU Sub. I have been eating at Sammy B's for over two years now, and I seldom order anything other than the ASU Sub. It's my personal favorite! My wife's favorite is their calzone because of how much pepperoni and cheese you get. We're always taking some home! The pizza is authentic New York style... and you can even watch the employees tossing the dough in the air while they make them. If you don't like Sammy B's, you may want to consider some therapy.
