TO DIE FOR CHINESE FOOD!.
These people wrote the book on chinese food! I have lived in Central Phoenix as well as outlying parts of the city, no matter where I am, when I crave Chinese food...Silver Dragon is my destination! You can always tell when you have found a good authentic restaurant of any origin, when there are tables filled with Chinese patrons.
The service is amazing...they know my name and my food preferences, and my drinks are never empty. The entire staff participates in your dining experience, you can be sure that you will never be passed off for a drink or napkin because that person is "not your server". This is also by far THE CLEANEST restaurant that I have ever dined at...IMPECABLE!
My reccomendations...Appetizer- Potstickers, Soup- Hot & Sour (This soup re-writes the definition of hot and sour as you know it!), Main Cours- Singapore Rice Noodle, this dish features curried (not spicy curry) rice noodles with green onion, pork spare ribs, shrimp and egg...I will be moving out of state soon, I will dream of Singapore Rice Noodle!!!
Keep up the good food!
Great Authentic Chinese; Simple/Dated Atmosphere; Go And Be Adventurous. Don't come here and order the same old same old. Come and ask for the Chinese menu, and order things you wouldn't order elsewhere. You may not love everything, but it will be memorable. For a great meal for 3 to 4, I recommend picking 3-4 of the following: Half-Order of Buddhist Style Egg Rolls (unique and about 5x better than your typical egg roll), Glazed Shrimp and Walnuts (really different, sweet and good), Sole Filet with Ginger and Onion (if you like fish), Beef Chow Fun (if you like noodle dishes), 1/2 order of crispy chicken (just chicken with salt), Any of the Hot Pots but spicy eggplant is a standout, as are seafood hotpots, and if you like calimari, order the salt and pepper squid. Then just enjoy an amazing meal! I think this is a great place to bring a large family and order 8-10 dishes, which are all $6-9 each, and then just share. Cons: service can be just okay, setting is rather run-down, and they push standard menu, so you have to ask for the chinese one with the best dishes. Pro's: great value, quality food and ingredients, and more variety than other valley restaurants.
Enter the dragon for authentic Chinese cuisine..
This Spartan-looking spot appeals even to the cognoscenti (big tables full of Chinese families as well as adventurous Americans). The long and potentially-overwhelming menu is written in Chinese and English, and regulars insist that the Silver Dragon is a must for those on a mission for truly authentic Chinese.
Delightful!. I remember coming here when I was younger and had a noodle dish that I absolutely love. And it's not a dish that you can really get at any chinese restaurant. Well a year or so back, I finally found the dish! I'm a HUGE noodle lover. And this is a wonderful dish. I've even gotten my friends into it. The Chicken Chow Mein Or Beef Chow Mein Hong Kong Style. It's great. It's a crispy pan fried noodle dish with a brown gravy sauce. Trust me, it's wonderful. It's far different from the original chow mein dishes. Well I hope all enjoy who read this review!
Good Chinese Food!. The chinese food here is quite delicious. Although I've found it to be better at times, it's still one of my favorites in the valley. Their duck is pretty good (had it 4 times and the last time, it was only okay - a little fatty), but all in all, a great place for authentic Chinese. (The Naw nam bow - Beef Stew is really good!)
