WORST PIZZA I HAVE EVER HAD TO
CONSUME!!! I ordered delivery last night(3/25/12) just before they closed at 8pm. The only reason we ordered from here was for a friends b-day who told us this place was great from his previous visits. He was unfortunately, terribly wrong. To add salt to the wounds the pizzas I ordered were outrageously expensive at $45($36 for pizza) total including delivery charge and tip.
We ordered a large "Super six"(sausage, pepperoni, ham, mushroom, green peppers, & mozzarella) and a small pepperoni. It was more like the Super disgusting pizza, the crust tasted like over-cooked, stale, cardboard similar to that of a $1 Totinos FROZEN pizza. The sauce has a strange tangy flavor to it and the toppings were flavorless. Not only that but it took them over 45 minutes from start to finish to deliver it(we live 4 miles from them). My friend who raved about the pizza even said it didn't taste the same.
My partner and I were polite and ate the pizza in front of him but once he left we threw away the leftovers.(which was quite a lot) Not only that but they show off some 2008 "Best food winner" from the Scottsdale culinary festival. All I know for sure is those judges probably had absolutely no taste buds. They aren't open today(monday) but believe me, I'm calling to complain tomorrow and ask for a refund.
Rat Poop. I use to frequent the central phoenix location until I overheard two employees joking about past rat infestation and rat droppings in the tiles above. I lost my desire to ever eat at that location. Its a shame, they had great pizza.
Chicago style. I highly enjoyed their pizza and service! I reccomend to all my friends who have never heard of spinato's.
best pizza in phoenix. when we vist phoenix every yr. we go to spinato;s in n phoenix. the pizza is the best. not all that heavy sauce most pizza's have. i tell people they have the best tasting pizza. the service is great too. they also ship pizza across the country. they need to serve maragritas. they also serve great sandwich;s
Eater beware!.
If this is the "best" that the Valley has to offer, then the Valley is going to come up short for a long time. And that scares me.. I came from the Little Italy area of Michigan where the Chicago Italians spent their summers and they would say the same as me, " The sauce is too runny, it has too much sugar and where is the oregano?" "And you call this crust?" "Crust you should chew on!" I would suggest the ownere fly up to Chicago, drive over to a place called Stevensville, Michigan on the lake and find a place called Glenlord Pizzeria. Order one of their Pepperoni Pizzas and savor the taste of a real Italian Pizza.. and I'll tell you what the secret ingredient is that makes their pizza so outstanding... asI live and die...SWISS CHEESE!
I will continue my quest for a REAL PIZZA... Oh and the moisture dripping black water from the air vents should be reported to the health authorities.. it's probably full of toxic molds so be weary of where you sit!
Aurelio's Recipe, almost as good. Going to the Homewood, IL original Aurelio's as a kid for dates, it is the best. Spinato's has the same recipe from a long-ago partnership with Joe Aurelio. The only thing missing is the crispy cheese on top. Service is OUTSTANDING, and the pizza brings you back to the same thin-crust, South Chicago style from back home. The north side of Chicago has their deep dish pizza, and the south side has the thin crust. Mmmm. If you miss the sweet red sauce of an Aurelio's Pizza, make the trip today!
Great romantic place. Perfect for a first date or just to talk. Bring your own fav bottle of wine. The food is delish! We are stuck on the pizza and antipasto salad! Try the feta and spinach pizza-I am a pizza connoisseur and have had my fair share of pizza in Italy and this compares: it is the best. Inexpensive but gourmet. Great atmosphere for groups or alone. Ask for Conan-a perfect server!
Just like home (Chicago). I come from Chicago and have always enjoyed Chicago style pizza. Every time i'd fly to Chicago, i'd come back with 3 or 4 pizza's. Now after more than a quarter of a century later, I finally found Spinatos Pizza which taste just like the pizza from home called HOME RUN INN PIZZA. They even cut the pizza in squares like Home Run Inn.
Go Out of Your Way for this Pizza!. I'm a professional Entertainer by trade. I travel all around the country...eating out almost every night of the year. Spinato's is in the top 3 of the best pizzas I've ever eatin...and trust me...that's a lot of pizzas. Definately go out of you way for this one. You won't regret it. Especially if your a Italian Sausage fan!
Spinato's - Best pizza in Phoenix.. I have eaten at several of the highest rated pizza places in Phoenix and, although small and not much ambiance, I think Spinato's has the best pizza in town. Their sauce makes the difference and have found no other like it here. I dine at the Tempe location and can't speak for the ambiance and size of the other locations.
