Perfect place to take a date – The place is really classy and it is a perfect place to show off your choice of restaurant to your wife/date/girlfriend.
The place is romantic. The food is great and the service too is good. I had a nice time here and hope you too have a great time.
Very Romantic!!! – this is a very romantic place. i recommend going here in the evening. its nicely lit and the fountain, courtyard area is bound to get you lucky. my girlfriend and i went for drinks on her Birthday and had a great time. the Resort looked amazing. next time we're in town, we'll have to stay there.
A Culinary Gem – I decided to treat myself to a self guided culinary tour of Phoenix for my birthday last year. I made reservations at T Cooks and was very impressed with everything. The shortribs were cooked to perfection, the duck was excellent, and the beef tenderloin was fabulous. Best of all, it's very affordable for an upscale restaurant. When you go Sunday through Thursday they have a three course menu for only $50.
The ambience was perfect with beautiful woodwork and soft lighting. The hotel that the restaurant is located at is very scenic and has beautiful fountains and palm trees and a variety of cacti, all worthy of pictures. Dessert was perfection designed to impress and please the palate. As an intimate detail the chef had scrolled happy birthday in chocolate along the edge of my plate. Needless to say, I was thoroughly impressed and will make it a point to stop there again when I return to Phoenix.
Perfect for Ladie's Lunch – sisters, future mother in law, mom, and I went to T Cooks for a celebration. We couldn't have picked a better place for us to get together, especially with my out of town family. It is so enchanting, the food is great too.
Like the chef's sampling menu – Dinner with friends was a fun experience here. Glad for the fixed price menu which my wife and I both enjoyed, our friends were celebrating anniversary and went whole hog and enjoyed themselves as well. Cocktails were innovative and high quality. Considering that our menu was Italian themed we were willing to go off the fixed menu for tiramisu but none available, bit of a bummer there. Overall very nice romantic evening as expected.
Christmas Day Dining Nightmare – We arrived and were seated in an alternate ballroom even though we came at an off time 3:45 pm. Our area had one waiter with 5 tables at any given time.
We waited about 10 mins before our waited greeted us, then another before he returned to take our drink order. I ordered a French Pinot Noir and didnt see it or anyone for over 15mins. Finally we were told that the wrong wine was brought up twice.
My baby organic lettuce and pickled root salad was fine but nothing to write home about.
My mother had the lobster bisque which was dark brown in color & lacked any distinctive taste whatsoever, not even the asparagus and caviar garnish could save it. She also tried the beet tart which was dried and pasty not to mention the prosciutto looked questionable.
We both had the Chilean sea bass which was average at best. Such a let down. Served in a hot handled circular dish which was set handle in towards my Mother. She was burned as she reached in towards her plate. It is presented skin and tail fin attached with much oil .
For desert my Mother had the chocolate tarte which she said was nice and I had the strawberry rhubarb concoction which tasted like a bland pumpkin pie.
I voiced my concern to our waiter Jeff who promptly took off one dinner, which was much appreciated.
What transpired later is the true atonement to the lack of customer service, sense of community or class T. Cook's has. Upon our arrival home my Mother became violently ill. She was in the bathroom all night. I wont elaborate.
She called T Cook's to speak to a manager and was given someone's voicemail.
She called back. She finally spoke to someone where they said repeatedly this had never happened.
One of the chefs called back to offer a free brunch..really? A free brunch after this NO WAY.
T. Cook's said they would call back but still have not . $140 (that is with one dinner comped) to be sick and eat subpar food accompanied with poor service, I think not.
Disappointed – Since we have not been to T Cooks in several years, thought we'd give it a try for a holiday dinner. We were all disappointed there were only a few poinsettas for decorations. Dinner was so, so. The paella was not memorable in a good way. The short ribs were ordinary, unlike Tarbells and Vincents. The risotto was undercooked. Deserts, though, were outstanding.
Reservations Needed – This is a great restaurant with some of the best food in The Valley. I highly recommend making reservations on OpenTable if you are going to dine here since you need reservations anyways. Not only will you build up those OpenTable points for a free meal, but T.Cook's will be able give you really good service. They always know what my drink and food preferences are and can always recommend something that I like. I know we don't have an reservation culture here in Scottsdale/Phoenix, but it is so totally worth it. You won't be disappointed at T.Cooks.
Better than average – The food and service at T Cooks is good, it is not on the same level as an old Phoenix favorite, Denny's on Van Buran. It is so unfortunate that it closed. Well, not for T. Cooks. With them gone, they have regained the number 1 spot.

Romantics will fall in love with this Mediterranean-inspired restaurant. – In Short
Located within an intimately scaled resort with flowers and fountains, citrus trees and stately old palms, T. Cook's style reflects Spanish, Moorish and Mediterranean sensibilities. For lunch, there's grilled beef tenderloin in a red-wine reduction over Gorgonzola-spiked Israeli couscous. The signature mussels, sauteed in chardonnay-thyme broth, are a favorite, as is the antipasto platter with roasted duck breast and grilled loin of lamb. Desserts include the caramel-cheesecake brulee.
