Great food and service. The food was very good, delicious soup and tea. The service was great and so nice... Everything was cleanly and neat, the food was very good and filling..
Great family owned Chinese restaurant!!!.
My family loves this place. We've been going for DECADES, and whenever my brother visits, we have to go to Golden Phoenix. The owners are always there taking care of the customers, and they're friendly and always remember you. Having gone there for so many years, we feel like part of the family.
We always order the pu-pu platter (yummy appetizer tray), and my brother can't live without the lemon chicken. The sizzling rice soup is very popular, but we love the hot and sour soup. Plus, they have a delicious desert!
The decor is also great - definitely has an authentic Chinese feel. And every Friday night they have a live traditional Chinese music performance. It's really interesting - it's called a Chinese zither, and it sounds similiar to the harp. Very relaxing and enjoyable. I can't recommend this place enough - I wouldn't eat Chinese food anywhere else!
very inexpensive lunch. ... but food wasn't anything to write home about. i personally prefer salad at chinese restaurants, or at least the choice between soup or salad ... and golden phoenix only offers soup (bad soup) at lunch. but the food isn't bad. if you just want a $5 or $6 lunch - it's not a bad choice.
Authentic & Awesome. After moving to Phoenix from Hawaii in 1975 my family and I had trouble finding a Chineese food restaurant we deemed as having authentic fare. A year later we found this little gem and we have been frequenting it ever since. Outstanding food, nice atmosphere, and exceptional service and value keep us coming back time after time!
The Chinese Restaurant from Seinfeild's. All the red and gold, Chinese lanterns, vinyl booths and servers in their white shirts with black bow ties are a great throw back to the 70's Chinese dining experience. After eating there a few times, they considered us regulars... kinda cool since they depend on the neighborhood clientele. Plus they were great to my 3 yr old who can be spirited at times. I hope Pei Wei on 7th and Glendale won't take too much of their market.
