Love this place. Are you kidding? You haven't gone yet? They have the BEST fried shrimp, fried catfish, cole slaw, biscuits and bread pudding in town. Steaks are really good, too. Prices are reasonable, friendly service - a real down home place, even if you've never been down home.

Great neighborhood steakhouse. I was raised in northeast Texas and this place is the real deal. The staff is Texas friendly and helpful. Nothing trendy on the menu, just good honest food and prices that won't melt the numbers on my credit card. The place is pretty funky with some serious sensory overload; but when conversation with companions gets a little slow there's always something on the walls to get our attention and liven things up a bit. Great Juke Box too.

My Momma will kick my butt if she reads this, but the chow here is as good as when I visit home and it's a whole lot closer.

You have to be delusional. The chicken fried steak here tastes bland and a little bit like beef liver. Would someone explain to me how this is good?!?

You don't have to be a Lone Star state native to get all warm and fuzzy.. In Short
This dark, funky tribute to all things Texas is a favorite with anyone who loves chicken-fried steak. Of course, everything Texan tastes better when Jerry Jeff is on the juke and you're surrounded by Texas license plates, Lone Star Beer signs and stuffed armadillos. The signature chicken-fried steak, served with lumpy mashed potatoes and gravy that could hang wallpaper, is probably ordered more than any other dish, but steaks and burgers are good too.
