my favorite Mexican food in the states. Been going off and on since 1986. Make a trip to Phoenix at least once a year to check in with Pete and have some great food and adult beverages at the bar.

Should be on everyones bucket list!

Love atmosphere, margaritas and food!. I don't know what the previous guy was talking about when he said this place was a shithole? but we live in the area and absolutely love it! We have been coming here for years! As for not liking Americans? Did you happen to look around the place? Plenty of Norte-Americanos my friend. I highly recommend this place and if you are a Margarita lover? Have one no have many!

Dishing out utstanding food for a long time. If ever I am biased in a review it would be here. I've been eating at this fine restaurant since I was a baby in 1970. Before I address the food, I'll say a bit about the layout: The atmosphere in some respects is utilitarian but in other respects its perfectly charming. The walls are real wood with a comfortable texture and tastefully decorated (with extras during the holidays). The tables and chairs are comfortable but just that. Now for the good part: the food. As a Phoenix native, I can say that La Pinata is perhaps the best all-around Mexican food establishment. Yes, you can find better single dishes elsewhere. Yes, you can find weaknesses in their menu (chimi and fajitas I'm looking at you). But like a world series baseball team, it's well rounded and pulls through. Want something unique and spectacular: order the chicken or beef machacadia (spelling?). Their tamales are very good. One of my favorite dishes is the machaca dinner with corn tortillas - spicy high notes shine out from the mix of quality beef, thick onion chunks and jalapenos Yum.

La Pinata has the BEST Mexican Food in town!!!. La Pinata has the best Mexican Food in town!!! Prices are VERY reasonable and the service has alway been great!! My favorite Mexican Food restaurant!! We have never been disappointed!!!!!!!!!

An old favorite!. I've been eating here since the early 70's, and have always been satisfied with both selection and preparation.
