Jordan's Mexican

Jordan's: 50+ years of mediocrity. The inside of this place looks like a haunted rest home cafeteria. The "salsa" which was served in an IHOP style syrup dispenser was actually tomato puree with some red pepper flakes added. Later, we found this out for a fact by leaving through the back parking lot exit, where we saw pallets of huge cans of the puree outside the back door. I guess that's where they store it. The margarita tasted like something you’d expect at the state fair, or a high-school student’s house party while his parents are out of town. When the waiter brought me the wrong food, I decided not make a fuss and cut into it. He came running out saying "No, no, no!!" and quickly took my plate and said, "That was close!" I was left wondering how it was "close", when I had obviously cut into the cheeseless cheese enchilada... Maybe he was going to serve it to someone else despite the incision? Most of the people eating there were old enough to have long since lost their ability to see things clearly at less than an arm's length, so maybe it wasn't a problem. When my chimi came out, there were no apparent fork marks in it, so whoever got my food probably wasn't as hungry as I was. Either that, or that person knew the chicken inside that chimi was tasteless and gummy, and was therefore not interested. The red sauce that came with the chimi tasted a lot like the tomato puree, but mixed with water. Luckily, I asked for the sauce on the side instead of over the chimi, and got charged $2.75, perhaps as an added slap in the face. When we were ready to leave and hadn’t seen the waiter for 15 minutes, I got up and asked another flustered waitress for a to-go box for the taco I hadn’t eaten. I could have finished the taco, but wasn’t sure how much more disappointment in the bland, spiceless "Mexican" food I could take before completely freaking out on the geriatrics running the place. I then bothered the cashier (who was sitting at a booth across from us, eating dinner) to cash us out. It was the most regrettable $40 I have ever spent. Should have gone to La Pinata for margs, and Mi Patio for food and salsa.…

I love this restaraunt!. My family and i go every once in a while the people there are so nice and food is freash and great i always get this: bean and cheese burrito enchilada style with sour cream inside it and rice on the side! its soooo yummy!

All my friends love it too if you havent tried there yet its most definately worth a trip down there! trust me!…

Avoid unless you are void of taste buds. I have lived in the Central corridor for 5 years, and drive by Jordan's everyday. But none of my friends or I have ever been. Now I know why. First off this is a Mexican restaurant, and there are no Mexicans working or even eating there. That should have been clue number 1. The salsa was served in an I-Hop syrup dispenser. It was made of tomato paste and a chopped up Jalapeno. It had the consistancy of thinned out ketchup. We still ordered to give it a shot. Well the food was so bland it had no flavor. Then when I looked around and saw that the average age of the patrons was 70, the light buld went off. I need to wait another 40 years before eating here again.…
