What People Are Saying About Encanto 18 Hole Golf Course

In Short – Its traditional features wind through tree-lined fairways while the Phoenix skyline shoots up in the background. The mellow atmosphere, which includes ducks on the pond (literally), makes for municipal golf at its best. Even though the course record is an 11-under 59 held by PGA Tour player Jonathan Kaye, who grew up on Encanto, there is no easy mark, as evidenced by Kaye's scorecard, which did not include an eagle.
Good Value

This course is a bargain, especially for golfers holding an annual resident's pass which pays for itself if you play a lot of golf. For the amount of play that Encanto gets, the course is usually in good shape. Athough bouncing the ball in front of the green with the hope of bouncing it on can result in a bad surprise, #'s 11, 14 and 17 are, in my opinion, notorious in this respect. Level with wide fairways, the course plays fairly long 6400 yds +/- from the blue tees. The last four finishing holes are great and can turn a decent round into a not-so-decent experience if you are not careful. It's too bad that they can't convert the 18th into a par 5 for a great finishing hole. One big negative are the bunkers which play more like concrete or dirt than sand.
The staff is friendly and treats everyone with respect. Too bad the same can't be said about some of the regulars.
