Curly Hair? Need a Stylist? Megan is your Gal – Wow, for years I have never trusted anyone to cut my hair from long to short. Since my hair is super curly, I've had some pretty bad haircuts in my time...but I found my gal!
Megan at Way Cool has patience, and loves "sculpting" curly hair. When she took me from long to short, I had the most compliments about my hair I had ever had!
The salon is very chill and hip, but Megan makes it WAY COOL for me!
New to City - Relieved it was a Great Experience! – I made an appointment on Monday and got in on Tuesday with Megan. I even had to postpone the appointment for an hour and that worked out! Megan was friendly and professional. She really listened to my hair goals and issues. She communicated what she was planning to do well and didn't veer from her plan. I appreciated that she didn't hack into the layers that I am trying to grow out. I love the cut and will be back! Thanks Megan.
The Coolest Place EVER! – I am from a small town about 200 miles away from here and after moving to the valley I seen this place while I was driving by everyday and finally decided to get my hair cut there. I was scared because I dont trust ppl with my hair but after going in I was like this is awesome the car on the wall the artwork everything just amazing. I wanted to get a short hair cut, my hair has been long for years and I made an appt. and was told to come later that day I did and Darci was my stylist. I showed her a picture and she made the cut fit my face and look more like a style that fits me than the picture. I would reccomend this place to anybody.
Great haircuts! – What a great experience! I called on Friday to make an appointment and they were able to get me in that day right around the time that was best for me. I came in, was greeted, and sat down to get my hair cut right away. I had brought in some photos of the cut that I wanted and stylist Megan was fabulous - she was attentive, asked all the right questions about what I wanted, and was able to interpret the multiple photos into a smashing haircut that I LOVE!! I went for a short haircut and it's the shortest it's ever been so I was worried that I wouldn't like it. I wasn't disappointed! The cut, including a wash and style took under an hour, and she even gave me pointers on what to use to style it later. I chose this place because I had heard of it through word-of-mouth and had seen photos and good reviews of it online, and thought it would be great for me. I have been to other salons that have just taken FOREVER to do hair, and it wasn't necessarily as 'stylized' as I had wanted it in the end, either. These people can do it! I even had one friend comment that it looks like a $200 haircut, too. WOW! I'm glad I tipped her well, because she deserved it. They are so friendly there, and really know what they're doing - don't miss out on a fun, easygoing haircutting experience for yourself!
Awesomeness!! – I went to this place because the salon i went to before just didnt have the times that i needed to go...so i called this place got an appointment fast. Stylist was very nice, she did a awesome job. went back to get my hair dyed once again it was great. Not your average boring salon. I am sure to go again even though i am on the other side of town. Megan did a smashing job on me. THX!
Love it! – Just got my hair did for the first time @ "Way Cool Hair"; and pardon the pun, but it's "Way Cool Hair! "
Great hair, great music, and I loved the artwork, wish I would have had more time to take it all in... 'ah but I'll see it agian... 'cause the folks @ WCH have most certainly given me a reason to come back!
Thanks for the amazing 'do Darci!
p.s. Darci did it all on her own, with no help from me. It went something like this:
Darci; "So what are we doing here..."
me: "Suprise me..."
Darci; "Yeah, anything off limits..."
me: "Nope, Go for it.."
She went, and she made it!
I was shocked at how much I loved this place! – So, I have been looking for a salon since my stylist Liz left Mane Attraction. I had been seeing her for over two years since I moved from LA. I knew I had it good when she approached me in the grocery store to give me her card. It was like, divine....meant to be, ya know? Anyway, I was in absolute tears to find out that she had left the salon, and felt like I was never going to find a great stylist. I ended up seeing someone else at that salon, and was totally and completely unhappy. I ended up going home and coloring my own hair with a box of clairol. Well, I ended up going months without color or a cut, and finally decided to find a new salon. Way Cool was listed close to my house, and from the website, reminded me of my old salon in LA. So, I gave it a shot....would you freakin believe, my stylist, Liz works there!!! Ah! So amazing! I wasn't placed with her, I was placed with Mia, who I found out worked at the old salon too. She was awesome! She seriously understood me! Now, I have 2 amazing hairstylist I can see anytime I like. Wow, talk about meant to be. Highly recommended salon!! Anyone would be crazy not to try!!
Way cool place to get a great haircut – I live in a podunk town 200 miles from Phoenix where no one knows how to cut short hair that works...so I took a chance and booked an appointment at Way Cool based on the reviews I read here and boy, am I glad I did.
I admit to some trepidation when I walked in because I am a 60 year old woman who likes to keep up with the latest but I am not one to push the envelope to the edge and most of the people in there looked very edgy and cool - customers as well as staff.
But Darci, who cut and colored my hair, made me comfortable enough that I put myself in her hands and I am exquisitely pleased with the result. I told her I have a convertible and wanted a haircut that looked good without being plastered down - one that did not require a lot of work and for the first time in ages, I have a haircut that works with minimal care and looks good even after riding with the top down.
They had a DJ (Saturdays only) spinning wonderful, funny music and the decor is so very much more enjoyable and energizing than the bland, boring shops you normally see.
I have had good haircuts (Yosh in S.F. for instance) so I know one when I get one and I highly recommend this place and intend to make the 400 mile round trip again in 6 weeks.
Always a good hair day at Way Cool – I've been going to this salon for over 15 years. I've never had a bad cut, and my hair always looks great. Styles and colors are always contemporary...on the edge (if you want them to be) and o.k. for a straight job too! I"ve never gone home and washed my hair in frustration. Now my daughter is a regular! Its an amazing place - filled with local and contemporary art and interesting magazines to read while you're waiting for your hair color to soak in. Can't go wrong here.
Amazing!! – Wow! I was very impressed with the service at Way Cool. Heard about the salon from a friend, and found out I am the luckiest person alive to have found such qualified hairstylists in the most random place! Crazy, fun, relaxed, and amazing stylists! Not only did I love my hair, but I loved everyone's around me. I was so baffled at the amazing hair that was walking out of this place! I highly recommend this little diamond in the ruff!! They rock....and you'll believe it when you try them!
