Underground venue features truly alternative music and art.. In Short
Located on a neglected stretch of Roosevelt in downtown Phoenix, Modified is in an old storefront tastefully redone on a budget. Its laid-back groove attracts a smart set of music and art fans. Non-alcoholic beverages are the only drinks offered, as this venue is more about the art and music than a party. Carefully juried shows (usually paintings by locals) hang on walls resonating with the sounds of bands patrons are not likely to hear anywhere else in the valley. A monthly series titled "Take Out" presents performance art in all its wacky permutations.
