In Short – Jackson's is a sports bar, nightclub and live music venue all in one. It's situated in the heart of Valley sports action, just down the street from Chase Field and across from US Airways Center. The walls are covered with murals of local sports heroes. It's also home to Club 245, where patrons can dance till closing time; another room has a stage for live music. Four bars serve beer and blended drinks, with 28 beers on tap, and the menu features pasta, sandwiches, pizza and more.
Depressing
by Bobo1771
I went to Jackson's on 3rd before a D-Backs' game last week, and it was not just bad, it was depressing.
As another reviewer noted, what used to be the "place to be" before games is now a poorly run, and poorly staffed, half-empty warehouse. The place apparently went out of business after the 2008 season, and someone bought it just before the start of the 2009 season, presumably figuring that they could just open the doors and make some quick cash. It was obvious they didn't put a penny into the place, and it honestly looked like it might shut down any minute Most of the lights were off (or not working), it was about 90 degrees inside the place, I didn't see any waitresses, and the menu consisted of a photocopied sheet with 5 or 6 things on it. My buddy was starving, and he convinced me to order nachos (how could they screw that up?), and it was, without a doubt, the worst bar food I've ever had. We actually laughed when they brought it out.
The place really is a depressing sign of these economic times What used to be a "happening", pre-game place is now a big, hot, pathetic shell of its former self. Oh, and if you happen to go there (and I don't know why you would), bring cash. They don't take credit cards.
Gone downhill

This used to be the place to go before a game, no longer. We went in just before a game and found the ac out, hey that happens, but all but two ceiling fans were working. One of the fans had the braket handing by some wires, looking very unsafe. We were told they have been out for quite some time. Since it was 112 outside, we suggested they close some of the doors and let it cool down, they said they would not do that. Several tvs were not working and or missing from the bracket with the wires hanging loose. Those that did work had a local news channel on instead of a sports game. Only one tv had the game on. We were greated by the bartender and order a $12.00 pitcher of beer, understandable when the place was upscale, but very high when it was hot and no abiance. Wife went to the bathroom and found it to be very unsanitary, no soap or towels, yuck. Used to be able to order from a full kitchen menu, now they offer a brat, hamburger or chicken sandwhich, of which is in the patio, so out to the 112 degree day to get something to eat. Since we did not see a waitress, we ordered the beer from the bar a chose a dirty table. Once the waitress came around, we apologized stating we did not know there was a waitress. Guess that made here mad, because she went to both tables on either side for the next hour and waited on them, but not us. An hour after we came, we finally gave up and left. This place is no longer worthy of it's previous ranking, they have let it go. Can't see paing the high price for a dump.
