I had heard great things about this
restaurant and decided to try.
I don't even know where to began. I was so hoping for something good to like here, but from the water to the soda to the soup to meal OMG! I'm not going to say it was the worst I've had, but hoped for something much better, even the bread was heavy and un -risen. Small food portions.
Don't think I'll try again. Loved the 1920s building.
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!. Had early dinner here on a Tues. night. Was absolutely delicious with great, fast service.
good food. bad service.
never go with more than maybe 6 people. ive been there twice. once with a party of 13 and another with a party of 17. the waiter completely messed up the orders and ended up charging a couple for a dinner that someone else ate cause her's never came out. but then after we made a huge fuss over it and he went to get the manager, he took it off the bill. why he didnt do that in the first place, i dont know.
it seriously takes them FOREVER to come back to your table. after drinks it takes about 20 mins for them to come back to take your order. once you order though you get your food pretty fast. but then you are sitting there waiting for the check and you dont even see the waiter to call him/her over.
over all, if you are the type of people that can sit and talk and not worry about how long things are taking, you'll be ok
food: good but portions are kinda small. they are made so you dont take any home.
service: FAIL
Kitschy Italian restaurant churns out heaping plates of pasta that won't break the bank..
In Short
Whimsical antiques and decorative items--velvet armchairs, vintage-looking fringed lamps and booths made from iron bedsteads--fill the dining room. The OSF Classics menu offers spaghetti with a choice of mushroom sauce, rich meat sauce, browned butter and feta-like mizithra cheese sauce, and more. Other popular favorites are the baked lasagna--layers of noodles, tomato sauce and four kinds of cheese--and the fettuccine Alfredo. Meals include a green salad, fresh-baked bread and ice cream.
Awful customer service, so-so food.
My hubby and I were very excited to go to Old Spaghetti Factory after hearing from so many people that it was great. We were greatly disappointed.
The service....
When we were seated, there was no silverware on our table. Our server brought us our salads and left. How does a server bring salads, put them on a table the size of my lap, and not notice we have no silverware?! My hubby and I sat there waiting for our server to come back to check on us, but he never did until he brought out our entrees. So even though we were hungry, we couldn't eat the salads in front of us since we had no silverware.
We needed some more bread about halfway through our meal and we asked our server for some. It took him so long to bring more out that we only had a couple bites of dinner left once we did receive it. I can understand if the kitchen is out of bread and is making more, but come back and tell me that, don't just leave me hanging!
The food...
I ordered the baked chicken. The chicken was on the bone. Every Italian restaurant I have ever been to serves boneless, skinless chicken breast. That's all I'll eat at home, too. Eating chicken off the bone is way too messy and time consuming for me. Plus the bones make the piece of chicken look bigger than it really is.
Hubby ordered the Meat Lover's Treat "for those with hearty appetites". The portion size was not as generous as expected. We're used to going out to eat, eating half the plate for dinner, and taking the other half home for lunch the next day. Not so with these portion sizes. We give the food a 6 overall. I could've made better at home. We will not be going back to this restaurant.
Great atmosphere...TERRIBLE food. I have been to MANY italian restaurants in the PHX, Chandler, Mesa area and I was terribly disappointed in the food. The staff was wonderful, the trolly car was an awesome touch, the whole "look" was great. Just don't go for the food! We ordered 4 different dished and neither were and good. I had many positive reviews from friends, but being a huge pasta fan, this is NOT the place to go!!
BEST PLACE FOR THE BEST PASTA. GREAT ITALIAN FOOD!!!! EVERYTHING WAS TERRIFIC GREAT SERVICE !!! THE NEXT TIME I AM IN ARIZONA I WILL DIFFENENTLY EAT HERE
Wonderful after graduation!. After graduating from the University of Phoenix Online, my father and I wanted Italian. On our way back to our hotel, we happened upon this place and what a jackpot! The food was delicious! The atmosphere is awesome and unique and the service was great! There was so much food that I was thankful we had a refrigerator and microwave in our hotel room. I just wish you had a location in Chicago!
User below is wrong.
There was never an Old Spagetti Factory in Chander... she was reviewing Mike Pulos Spagetti Factory which is rightfully now out of business (it stank).
The Old Spagetti Factory, however, is great. You get huge portions, and salad, dessert, and coffee or tea is included in the price. There is always a long wait, however, there is a movie room and lots of games to keep the kids entertained. This is a favorite spot for our family.
To be no more. The service was fast & very friendly. The food was very scrumptous. I was very delicious. My friend & I were disheartened to hear that this there last week as the Old Spaghetti Factory, the owner is gonna turn into country type resturant where they will serve breakfast & lunch. According our waitress she said they have lost business since they built the new Chandler mall. But the one on Central in open. I would highly reccomend it!!
