Editorial Review for RA Sushi Bar Restaurant – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Washed in red by overhead lamps and stained woods, the sleek décor bears a hip Asian feel. Expect an Asian fusion menu and artful sushi, including specialty rolls like the Tootsy Maki, Lone Star Roll and lotus-root-topped Viva Las Vegas. Enjoy a specialty cocktail or happy hour in the lounge.

Insider Tips
What to DrinkTry a Tsunami Punch, served with Southern Comfort, amaretto, vodka, cold sake, grenadine and fresh juice. It's served in a 60-ounce fishbowl and is plenty for two.

Ok, so the sushi at Ra is not at all Authentic, plus the wait staff is sooooo slow it gets on your nerves quickly (especially if you didn't order a Sake Bomb to soothe the pain). BUT there are two rolls that have me coming back for more - I love the Gojiro Roll and the Crunchy Shrimp Roll. Both are totally overpriced(along with everything else on the menu) but well worth it. I'm telling you I get the strangest cravings for those two rolls and no other place in Scottsdale has anything quite like these - born and raised here I like to think I'm the proper critique : ) . now if you are a serious sushi eater, then forget it. But if you like fluff and different tastes combined into one entree to excite your palate - you should at least check it out. Please be prepared for : slow service, loud music, & a steep bill. (now you know those two rolls have to be worth it fi I keep coming back after all that) : )
Pros: Gojiro & Crunchy Shrimp Rolls
Cons: Service & Prices

I seriously eat at RA at least once a week. They have the freshest sushi and are generous with their quantities! Any roll with real crab meat will get me on board and they aren't shy about it. Whether you feel like going it alone, are on a date, or with a group of friends, this is definitely a great spot. The atmosphere is hip, loungey, and the music is always pumpin -- though some have complained it's been too loud, I've never experienced it being overboard. Maybe on a weekend they crank up the volume, but who cares? It's the weekend and you're out for sushi! Live it up. The waitresses are also pretty friendly. Encounters with flaky ones are far and few between. If I had to say one negative thing, it would have to be the wait times if you want to grab take-out. The food always comes out quick if you're sitting down to eat, but whenever I get take-out.. I just walk in and order, but end up waiting a good 20-30 minutes, for some reason.
Pros: Great food/sushi, generous portions, friendly waitresses
Cons: Take-out is a little bit of a wait in my experience
