This spare, naturally lit space has mounted consistently high-quality shows of contemporary art since 1985. An open-minded approach keeps this gallery's shows fresh and provocative. Though the Valley has traditionally been more receptive to Southwestern regional painting and sculpture than contemporary work, Sette has thrived as a lonely outpost for progressive pieces. Lisa Sette's artists include James Turrell, William Wegman, Luis Jimenez, Mayme Kratz, Kevin Berry and David Leventhal. As a group they produce a healthy cross-section of cutting-edge work. Their paintings, photography, prints, sculptures, installations and videos make for a lively schedule of shows.
