In Short – One of the last mom and pop shops in downtown Tempe sits beneath giant shade trees on the sleepy corner of 4th Street and Mill. It draws even the fashion conscious with comfortable shoes from around the world that are marvels of European engineering. They've got comfy sandals covered with a huge variety of Birkenstocks. They also carry one of nearly every sandal made from brands like Clarks, Simple and Ecco. Ergonomic, back conscious backpacks lend a nod to the local university crowd and cutely colored leather handbags look natural and stylish.
Super Fantastic

I lost my sandals while on the Salt River. My friend recommend the Shoe Mill for their wide selection. The experience gave me faith in shoe shopping. The staff was incredibly friendly, the girl who helped me was super helpful, she even bought me a sandwich at Silver Mine Subs when I finished my purchase. I would recommend The Shoe Mill to anyone. There was only one draw back, I parked on Mill Ave and a school of birds decided to relieve themselves on my newly washed car. I would try to aviod parking by trees.
May you never have to return a pair of UNUSED/UNWORN shoes to them

They were extremely rude at their Gresham, OR store and what made matters worse is that their corporate location ignored THREE emails sent over THREE months, doesn't list a phone number (for their corp offices).
- Pros: variety of brands
- Cons: unknowledgable and rude staff in some locations
Shoe Stores

I have not been in Az but 5 months and I love shoes and shopping. I found out about this store on the I'net looking for an 'Ameribag' (handbag)-so I ventured down to Mill Street (on a Sunday) found a parking place (free) right across the street - this store is a shoe lovers dream come true. The sales girl was so cute and helpful (you are bound to be happy working in the great environment) I signed up for their mailing list and can't wait to go back. Oh, and I found exactly what I went there for (and beyond) and will tell everyone I know who loves shoes/handbags about this store-it is great.
- Pros: Great Variety, more than expected, smells like leather
