Waited a while to eat here DONT DO IT. I waited a while to eat here , I had heard so much about the place , we went out had a great day with old friends and then though I would pull el portal out of my hat , to top the day off. What a mistake the food was cold it had hair in it and the place needs to find some people who a customer service oriented.
Fifty-year-old Mexican restaurant given new life by local politico Mary Rose Wilcox..
In Short
Believe in reincarnation. Wilcox and company have refurbished the interior completely, giving it a bright, fresh new look to start anew. Still, it's the down-home Sonoran food that's the main attraction. Try the cheese-gooey chilaquiles bathed in red or green chili sauce and topped with two fried eggs, and the calabacitas, a casserole of squash, onions, chilies and cheese.
BEST IN TOWN!!!. I wish I had known about this place a long time ago. My family met there for lunch after a sister had tried it and gave it rave reviews. Now I am so "hooked" that I can't think of going anywhere else for Mexican food. I finally found a place who makes hot sauce the way I like it--HOT!!! Thank God for refills!
