Not Recommended. Terrible service. Our waitress had an attitude problem. She was very condescending and never checked in to see if we needed anything and lied about the food. Then we asked another waitress for a drink refill and she never returned and completely ignored our request.

Horrible food. Food was overcooked and had no taste.

avg thai food, nice decor. thaifoon is to thai food as pf changs is to chinese. americanized not so authentic thai restaurant. more trendy and about the atmosphere rather than the food. they have your usual pad thais, chicken satay, fried shrimp etc. nothing special

Go there for lunch. This place has a sort of watered-down, semi-authentic Asian menu... the Thai equivalent of PF Chang, if you will. I actually like that sort of thing, and I liked this place just like I enjoy going to PF Chang on certain occasions. I think ThaiFoon would be a bit overpriced to justify a dinner visit. But their lunch menu is fairly reasonable. They have about 8 different lunch entrees, many of which are interesting, and you can add a wonderful side salad for a nominal fee. Everything was fresh, and they used good-quality ingredients. The restaurant was very clean with a refreshing decor, and our waitress was very friendly and efficient. Overall not a bad place at all!

Mainstream approach to Thai food takes Scottsdale by storm.. In Short
Thaifoon owner Randy Schoch aims to do for Thai food what P.F. Chang's did for Chinese: make it upscale, accessible and fun. Patrons seem to approve of the easy-to-read menu and its Pan-Asian slant. Seventy-year-old monastery doors and towering bamboo trunks add a traditional touch to an otherwise contemporary setting. The bar draws hipsters who can't resist exotic drinks or the mesmerizing waterfall that cascades down a 10-foot-wide sheet of glass. Menu items are rooted in tradition without being traditional.

Don't Bother Eating Here. Being from New York, I thought I would give Thai Foon a try to compare it to the wonderful Thai food in NYC. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. Thai Foon would be out of business in less than a week in New York, if compared to what true Thai cuisine tastes like. If you are looking for good, authentic thai food, you will find none here. The staff seats you fast and tries to rush you out of there even faster. The dishes are below average, at best, and are incredibly bland. Although the atmosphere is nice, the service and food are unworthy of any sort of merit.

Even my wife didn't get it. My wife tends to like every place we go to dinner, and I tend to be the critic in the family. We walked in the door and she thought, "Oh, PF Chang but with Thai food..." and then we got the menu, and failed to find a single authentic Thai dish on it. Now I realize that people don't go to PF Chang for authentic chinese food (you have to go to china or chinatown in SF for that), but at least what you order is somewhat recognizable as chinese, althought with fresh ingrediants. At Thaifoon, we just left confused and with a lighter wallet.

Thai This!. What malevolent, disgruntled pagan god belched up this disaster of a restaurant? Those who have never sampled Thai food will be none the wiser but this is anything but authentic. It's another over-done California incarnation of mixed-up cuisines, combined with the Scottsdale Culinary Institute's "flair" for painting bits of sauce on the plate to fill in the large gaps left by a tiny blob of "food". The atmosphere is the same as any trendy-nouveau place in Scottsdale and is designed to make one forget the food experience.

Delish!!!. My husband, friends and I dined at Thaifoon for lunch recently and had a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere was funky Thai with a soothing fountain behind the bar and warm, earthy colors throughout the room. The menu enticed our taste buds with juicy descriptions of the food choices. The food itself did not disappoint. It was delicious!!! I ordered the Crazy Thaiger Salad, with sliced beef, lemongrass dressing and mushrooms. It was excellent-lots of flavor and not too filling. My husband had the Pad Thai and just raved about it. The staff was very friendly and seemed enthusiastic about the food and the restaurant. I give Thaifoon a 10!
