Wonderful Experience. My wife and I were in there and out waitress Melissa was the best. She was so friendly and on top of everything. My wife is african american and I am white. She didn't treat us any differenty.

We have ran into alot of people that judge us they may not say it but we can see it in their face.

She is obvisouly not predjudice in any way. Everyone else seemed very friendly and it was a cozy environment.

Martini anyone? Still the best in town. Greg Wheeler designer and owner of the MERC created this club while living in Denver in the 80's. Spending his extra time at the Denver design center and planning several cities based on work and nitelife. Executive offices, shops, salons, restaurants and the most important bars, tavernsand niteclubs all closely knit within walking distance. Hotels and movie theaters in case your sauced or if in a city where it is common for a blizzard and you where snowed in you could catch a movie or get a room. Very upscale trendy club very cool! Great drink specials very cool crowd much fun! Great music none of that adolescent hip-hop/rap god aweful sound that children consider to be music. Great alternative music, trance and techno what's the difference expect hot women with taste and class.

Wow. It was like I walked into a big living room. The low couches with low lighting set the mood for a relaxing evening. The waitress was very informative about the menu and steered me towards a Sophia Loren, wow. This was the best martini ever! A strawberry martini with real strawberries, not strawberry flavored schnapps, what a delight. I will be coming back again sometime soon

Swanky.... I enjoy meeting up with a girlfriend or two, after work, on a weeknight. But even if its empty, you have to be "prepared" for the slower service. (Last visit just used their free wifi and played with our iPhone, while waiting for the check) But its a fun place to meet up after work and enjoy a drink...

Good time. Weird how there are some good reviews and some terrible ones. I was there last Friday on my birthday and had a fantastic time. Bartender was friendly and there was a good happy hour. The drinks are reasonable and I even got a free b-day drink! Music was excellent and there were interesting people. Mostly attorney types who work in the office building, but then a more hip crowd as the night went on... The manager there was very friendly as well as the person at the door. The busboy took away my drink a little too fast, so the bartender made me a new one for free.

They want to make tips, so why wouldn't they try to do a good job. To the person who left a $2.00 tip - you are sad. Sounds to me like getting upset over $2.00 is something that you've been thinking about for a long time. YOU should save up your little money and buy a bottle of wine and drink it at home.

Dishonest and Incapable Servers. My boyfriend and I went to Merc Bar for the 1st time on a Thursday about 2 weeks ago. We were greeted at the door quickly and told we could sit wherever we wanted. It was very empty so we chose a table as opposed to the bar. Our server, Kari H., took so long to even greet us that we began to wonder if we had to order at the bar. Once she finally took our order, she took about just as long to return to our table. We thought she had forgotten about our drinks. When she finally came back to our table, she came w/drink napkins and asked what we wanted to drink (again). We told her we already ordered and she said "Where are your drinks?" We replied, "That's what we were wondering." She finally realized that she dropped them off at the wrong table. We had to wave her down to order a second drink; and then again to ask for our bill. After taking my credit card we had to wave her down AGAIN to bring us the slip for me to sign. (According to her, she had forgotten and left it at the register...doesn't make me feel safe.) Due to the terrible service I decided to leave her $2 on a $38 bill (I normally leave 20-25% tips). When it finally showed up on my credit card statement, she had given herself a $4 tip. I tried calling management to report it, but can't get ahold of them and they're not returning my call. DON'T GO THERE!

bad customer service. I used to like going to Merc bar untill recently. The staff was disappointing. Me and my boyfriend celebrated our anniversary and wanted to get a drink after dinner, they ignored us for 40 minutes and they were not realy busy. We asked the busser to call the waitress to us but she never showed up. I am a waitress myself and understand that sometimes it is impossible to be everywhere at once but I haven't had worse experience in my life. Even when she did show up she wasn't friendly more annoyed. I think she thought that other tables would tip more and just wanted to be helpful to them.

Great time. Went into Merc on a Sunday night and it was packed. Staff are very friendly so I don't know why there were some bad reviews. Looked like some reviews were OLD. Anyway, the drinks are expensive-ish but at least you don't have college kids spilling beer all over your shoes. There is no dancing, but this place is a LOUNGE not a nightclub. The happy hours are good too. I've been here several times and its always nice, clean and gets a nice crowd. They have a dress code for a reason. And to the person who looked like a slob and wanted cigarettes and a beer, find a lower level bar and you'll be happy. But if you want to dress nicely and have a cocktail, this is your place.

nah. I went to this bar and was disappointed. It's really small, there's no place to dance and they don't really play any good dance music. I suppose I was misled with my friend telling me about it. It really is just a small lounge with a lot of snotty uptown people. We didn't stay long, and I won't be back to visit anytime soon.

A swanky martini lounge in Phoenix's most fashionable district.. In Short
This dark, semi-hidden haunt is popular with upscale Phoenicians. The location and low-key approach (no sign at the entrance) make it a favorite of celebs and pro athletes. Well-dressed young professionals and 30-somethings plant themselves at the bar or in comfy chairs and stools situated around short lounge tables to sip on specialty martinis.
