Short on service Long on Atmosphere.
The service was just plain poor. Had to first chase down the unattentive alternative lifestyle bartender. All into himself. Switched to a table and life returned to normal. There were several eights in the lounge. My female companion enjoyed the Appletini.
This is a after work (Wednesday, Thursday) stop. Friday's are crowded. Goodluck on securing a table. If you are on a business trip this is a must stop.
Bon Chic Bon Genre- Merc Bar. The Merc Bar is an amazing place to get together with one friend, or a dozen. The atmosphere is inviting with its comfy couches, and low tables. The drinks and cracker platter are definitely on the must have list. Whether it's a bottle of Voss, or a Martini you are after the Merc bar girls know just how to make it exciting. This is a place to see and be seen. Don't wear sneakers, or jeans in, you will feel out of place.
The Merc.
I have been going to the Merc for five years now. It is by far the greatest bar in Phoenix! It's totally my spot for the business social scene. Thanx to Carson, Steven, Carter, Dave, Troy and Carter. I know Troy isn't there anymore but oh well. I love him anyway. Punchy...you know you are my #1 guy forever and for always. I love you so much...
You Guys Know Who Wrote This
Uh, NYCs part II. Ok, so I totally ran into the one in NYCs by accident and they're pretty much identical. Both the decor is the same and they're located "off the beaten path" so you really have to find it. I was excited to see something in AZ that is a direct sister of the same bar in NYC. I thoroughly have enjoyed every time I have gone there. See ya in NYCs next time!
Get over it.. Not to sound like a typical Phoenician but this place was awful. I was in the center to see a flick and stopped in here since I knew they would sell cigarettes. I was dressed very casual and imeediately all three employees ( the only people in the club ) looked down their noses at me. I was extremely offended. If they had sold me smokes and a beer they would have been amazed at the tip they would have gotten from me. The richest man is not always the in the richest clothes. Get a grip.
Different Feel.
This place is inconspicous. That is - until you get inside and see all the people. The music is loud enough to require you to speak up when sitting at the tables. Beers run 5-6 dollars. Martinis 9-10 dollars.
Good mix of guys and girls - a place that you should go in a group. Pretty trendy but you can get in wearing jeans. Very dark inside.
cool place to chill. The is a cool place to set back with a few friends and chill. The music is not blarring so it's easy to have a conversation is there. The bartenders made strong drinks.
Chillin' in the 602!. The Merc Bar is one of the best places to go with friends, have a few cocktails, and just chill. The drinks are awesome and the staff is just as ready as you are to toss a few back. And believe me, it pays to be friends with a bartender.
