Editorial Review for Kona Grill – by Jim Cherry
In Short
Large back-lit aquariums and cranked-up rock music add to the sleek decor and laid-back vibe at Kona Grill, which caters to young professionals and raucous weekend crowds. Pan-seared ahi tuna, baked sea bass, lemongrass-crusted swordfish and chili-glazed salmon are served in generous portions. The macadamia nut chicken with shoyu cream sauce is a favorite.

Insider Tips
Save MoneyThe lounge features reduced drink prices and half-price appetizers, sushi rolls and pizzas from 3pm to 7pm, Monday through Friday.
Look GoodThe upscale location and chic interior mean a dressier approach than typical Sunbelt garb of T-shirts, shorts and sneakers.

If you enjoy ok sushi, lost credit cards and waiters that behave as if they are better than you...then you'll LOVE it here.

i came to kona yesterday for lunch on the patio with my 2 year old. i have enjoyed it in the past, however today was quite an exception. as we sat down there was a ridiculous stench of refuse. a Yankee fragrance candle was lit in the wait-staff well in order to divert my nose. it didn't work. as i looked around i noticed the stools and chairs were FILTHY. c'mon people... this is Scottsdale Fashion Square for gods sake! maintain your business! the service was ok, but the food was difficult to enjoy because of the smell.... what's the deal??? gross. do you guys really pass health code standards?
Pros: menu has options
Cons: dirty place
