OOOO I love this Place!. There is no better place to have amazing food like this...the bread is so fresh and delishous...wine so many great ones to choose from...Christopher keeps a close eye on things...the duck confit only France there is better...dessert....o it's so worth it...there is only one thing better and well you know...it's not food ;)
Special treat for a special occasion. I have been frequenting this restaurant for years and I can honestly say the service is efficient and professional and the food is superb. I also ate at Christopher's on Valentines day. As was explained to me, asking for a credit card to hold a table (this is for you guynaz), is something many restaurants do to protect themselves from people who make reservations in several restaurants on holidays, so they can choose which one they like at the last minute. I had a wonderful experience on Valentines day, between a decadent 5 course menu with the option to add wine parings, and an innovative a la carte menu, there were many wonderful delights to choose from.
excellent soup service and wine. I have been frequenting this place for years. I travel from Los angeles every month and usually spend a week in Phoenix. Most often ...I will spend 3-4 days here! The bar mamnager Alicia is superb. The Chef is always up for a good chat about a number of interesting topics. The wine selection is very different and extensive. The Red Pepper Soup is fantastic. I always sit at the bar. I almost NEVER order from themenu. Alicia asks what wine..red or white...and I let her bring me what she likes. She suggests food selection based on the wines.I am almost never disappointed. I am always treated like a friend there...and since I usually travel alone am NEVER treated like the dreaded single traveler! I cannot recommend this place high enough!
Christopher's. Terrible food, rude service, what more is there. The best comment I can make about the restaurant is the location - it is great.
Good food, bad service, not worth it.
The restaurant asked for a credit card to hold a table last night. It seems like the restaurant is about stacking and packing people in. Not what one would expect from $150 per person restaurant.
I might be tough after post-diner buyers-remorse and realization that the big picture experience last night was that I just spent $300 was a $75 "Black Angus" experience. $50 for wine pairings on a tasting menu for 3-oz pours... seriously. 20% gratuity was automatically tacked on to the bill for two people, which was not communicated in any way, shape or form! Server had no reason to perform and it showed... awful service.
Slow beverage service to start as we waited about 10 minutes ready to order drinks. The amuse was uninspiring brought out on a platter as we and the other tables next to us were asked to pick the offering off the platter. Then course #3 brought out before course #2. There was an understandable long wait for the second course while the third course was put back in the kitchen to sit (we actually saw it happen!) and then brought back out 20 minutes later right after the second course. The mushroom side portion was cold and my chicken/potatoes were barely warm. And then while we were on the cheese couse, trash bags were being pulled across the floor behind us, part of the staff was wrapping up the night behind us and the rest staff were already at the bar smoking, drinking and kicking back.
In the end, it ended up being just over 2 hours and I was shocked to see 20% gratuity atomically added. Pathetic. One positive note... The first two courses and 1 of 2 desserts were excellent (scallop&pepper soup, foia gras, lobster pastry, white fish, chocolate tower) were excellent but the overall experience and service was awful.
Contemporary French-American eatery and wine bar that's a casual oasis in ritzy Biltmore Fashion Park..
In Short
This fermier brasserie (French for "farmer's tavern") is a casual space that features a vaulted ceiling, wine bar and long, narrow dining area. Business diners and mature couples come for lunch and dinner. Some menu items include an international cheese plate, fish, roasted chicken and the staff-recommended souffle with Grand Marnier.
Not a good experience. I could not honestly recommend this restaurant to anyone. This service is awful and the staff has very little concern for their customers. A truly horrible experience. I will never go back to this restaurant.
You pay for what you get!. Best food in Phoenix. Great atmosphere. Staff knowledgeable about food & wine. Great "date restaurant." Also great if you just want a drink, appetizer or meal with friends/family in a classy, warm, private, fine-dining yet comfortable establishment. It is expensive, but it it worth every cent.
User review by banner123. Superb food and excellent service. We always have a great time may it be lunch, dinner and happy hour. We love it coz it so close to us.
THE BEST ON PHOENIX. Unequivocally the best of Phoenix. Unlike the majority of restaraunts of the Biltmore, Christophers offers a unique, congenial, French Atmosphere. Any one of the remarkable traits of Christophers is worth the drive to Biltmore. The wine list is superior, and the staff is quick to offer a taste of any selection. Unquestionably worth the money spent.
