Editorial Review for Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
Rawhide is a major tourist trap, but locals like it too. Casual attire is a must and cowboy boots are definitely a plus on the dusty town roads. Adults can shop and enjoy a mock Western shootout, while the kids pan for gold or make candles. There are also horseback and stagecoach rides, and there's Rawhide's Steakhouse for lunch and dinner. The family-style restaurant is decked-out in red leather and steer horns, and live country music rocks the house. Be adventurous and order the rattlesnake.

If you want to see "The Best" Santa Claus, go to Rawhide. This time of year there are a lot of Santa's out there, but Rawhide has the most adorable, most authentic looking Santa you'll ever seen. It's enough to make you want to be a kid again!

Rawhide has changed a lot in the past few years. I used to go there as a kid and then took my children and I have great memories of it. They started charging for admission for a while (ownership changed) and things everything went downhill. Since ownership has changed back to the original owners things are better than ever. Better attractions, great haunted house, wonderful merchandise and entertainment.

Pros: Gun Fights, Gold Panning, Stage Coach Rides
